Why is our club Called Strandside?
Hermosa Beach is the mecca of beach volleyball, rich in history and shaped by generations of players. While the game evolves, the fundamentals stay the same. There’s a baseline. A system. And when you understand it, the game becomes simpler and more effective.
Strandside was built to teach that foundation.

Beach volleyball here is defined by the elements, the sun, sand and wind. The consistent onshore breeze from ocean to strand affects every touch, while the sand challenges every movement.
The sand is softer and more forgiving, but harder to move through. When you learn to move well on sand, you become faster, more balanced, and more explosive giving you the ability to move with ease anywhere else.

The Path
The Strandside path is represented by a curve, an “S” shape inspired by the strand and the natural flow of life.
Because life isn’t linear. It moves, shifts, and evolves.

The more tools you learn, the easier it becomes to navigate that path with confidence and purpose. At Strandside, we don’t believe there’s one way that works for everyone. Every athlete is different and that’s exactly the point.

Our collaborative coaching system is built around that belief. We guide, adapt, and evolve with you, helping you move toward your own version of success.
